The contest "Educator of the Year 2020" will be held under the auspices of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. It dates back to 1989 - it was then that Teacher’s Newspaper invited readers to discuss the organization of the contest. The very next year it was held for the first time, after which the series of teachers' Olympic Games ”was no longer interrupted. After the collapse of the USSR, the competition acquired the status of an all-Russian one.
Objectives
The main objectives of the competitive selection among teachers of Russia:
- search for talented teachers;
- increasing the prestige of the profession and the social status of its representatives;
- distribution of pedagogical experience on the example of the best teachers using innovative techniques;
- increasing skill and raising professional standards.
Structure
As before, when choosing the best teacher in 2020, participants will have to go through several qualifying rounds - not everyone will reach the final.
School stage
Selection begins at the school stage. Educational institutions test candidates until December 23, 2019 (specific dates are indicated by the organizing committee).
How to participate? Only those applicants whose pedagogical experience of at least 3 years are allowed to test.
Important! The organizing committee must submit an application for participation, consent to data processing, an information card. The teacher must also provide an application for the lesson.
At least 3 people participate in the competition. The next round goes 1 or 2 participants (leaders in the number of points scored).
Municipal stage
The responsibility for this tour is assumed by the municipal authority. Estimated completion dates are the 20th of February 2020. Teachers who won the school confrontation are allowed to participate. Only 1 representative from an educational institution goes to the next level. If, for objective reasons, the winner cannot take part in the further selection, a replacement is made for the participant following him in the number of points scored.
Regional stage
This stage completes the qualifying rounds. It lasts until the end of April 2020. Winners of the regional test go to the finals.
The final
The order of conduct, the exact dates, the rules of the finals of “Teachers of the Year of Russia 2020” will be determined by the organizing committee of the All-Russian competition after the completion of the regional qualifying round - in March 2020. Since 2019, the assortment of tests has changed - now the participants have to complete 2 new tasks.
Annually, the finals fall at the end of September and the first days of October. The participants will be hosted by a city whose representative will win in 2019 - his name will be known no earlier than this fall. The full-time third round of the “Teacher of the Year” contest is traditionally held in Moscow. Winners of the last qualifying stage delegated by regional bodies take part in the final. If the winner, for objective reasons, cannot take part in the final tests, then a replacement is made for the contestant following him by the number of points.
To participate in the competition for the best teacher in 2020, in addition to the application for participation, consent to the processing of data, an information card are provided:
- information on the results of the candidate passing the school, municipal, regional stages;
- extract from the protocol at the regional stage.
Reception of materials ends June 10.
Important! If they are sent by mail, then the date must be stamped on the stamp no later than indicated.
According to the provisions of the "Teacher of the Year 2020" competition, all participants are required to register on the official website teacherofrussia.edu.ru. Materials are not accepted from unregistered contestants, as well as in the case of incorrect registration (required to adhere to the proposed samples).
Final Test Structure
The competition “Teacher of the Year 2020” opens with an installation workshop, during which all the necessary explanations are given. As part of the installation workshop, participants write an essay - this is one of the competitive tests of the first part-time tour. The second task is an “Internet resource” - until July 15, the participant places a methodological portfolio on teacherofrussia.edu.ru and on his resource (provides a link to the corresponding page of his personal blog / website). Round 1 ends August 31. The 15 best contestants become laureates.
Stage 2 includes 3 full-time tours, each of which implies 2 tasks at once. Competitors will have to show their abilities to conduct extracurricular activities, show professional skill and ability to promote their approaches and ideas, demonstrate the ability to work in a team and create promising project models. Tests make it possible to evaluate the qualities of participants in a complex and to identify among them the best representative of the profession. Following the results, 5 finalists are selected. The absolute winner is determined by the total points in the rounds.
Prizes
The absolute winner receives the title "Teacher of the Year." Throughout the year, he serves as a public adviser to the Minister of Education, and also receives a cash prize. Finalists of city and regional competitions also do not go unnoticed - they are awarded medals, rewards, memorable prizes.
The competition to determine the best teacher in Russia has a deep meaning - it allows you to improve the quality of schoolchildren’s education, because all the useful work of talented teachers to some extent embodied in the school curriculum.
