Officially, Entrepreneur's Day was approved in 2007. They began to celebrate it after Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree. The scale of the celebration is increasing every year. Various events are timed to coincide with the date, which are held not only in big cities, but also in regions.
Entrepreneurship began several centuries, or even millennia. The first merchants were mentioned in ancient Egypt. The government even adopted a special law according to which dishonest merchants were executed. Forms of private activity existed in other countries. In the Russian Empire, the famous entrepreneurs were the Demidov brothers, who founded weapons factories.
Under the USSR, economic development programs did not provide for private entrepreneurship, although people did this illegally. The legalization of this field of activity occurred only in 1990 after the signing of the corresponding law.
Now small, medium and big business is the basis of the state economy. If earlier businessmen were scorned, now this profession deserves respect. They have to work in conditions of serious competition. In this regard, they work seven days a week, constantly solve work issues, take risks, sign contracts. The introduction of a professional holiday has become an opportunity to show respect for them.
