And although the holiday is young, it is important for people who represent the country in the international arena. They bear a great responsibility, since the change in the economic and political situation often depends on them. Diplomats must be fluent in foreign languages, be sociable and persuasive, able to negotiate and find an approach to people.

Many professional holidays have a floating date, that is, it changes annually, but diplomats are always congratulated on the same day.

The date is fixed and does not change from year to year. It is approved at the legislative level. February 10 for a professional holiday of diplomats was chosen for a reason. This number dates from the first mention of the Ambassadorial Order - the first prototype of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1549.
History of occurrence
A professional holiday for diplomats appeared in 2002. The President of Russia signed a decree. Diplomatic Worker's Day is on the list of professional and public holidays. It is not an official weekend. Since February 10 falls on Monday in 2020, ambassadors, consuls and diplomats will have to work, as well as workers in other professions.
And although the holiday is young, the diplomat’s specialty appeared during the reign of Ivan the Terrible. In 1549, the Ambassadorial Order was created, which served as the current Foreign Ministry. In XVI, Russia, more precisely Russia, was able to declare itself in the international arena and establish political relations with some states. And although the features of the embassy have changed dramatically over the centuries, the main point has remained the same - diplomats are establishing contacts with other countries for economic and political development.
Every year, the Day of the diplomatic worker is gaining more and more popularity. Congratulations are received not only by experts who are negotiating with representatives of other countries, but also by everyone who works in embassies, consulates, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Teachers, professors and students of specialized educational institutions also celebrate the holiday.
Traditions
Annually, the main events dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the diplomatic worker are concentrated in embassies and consulates in Russia and other countries in which Russian specialists work. Now the Russian Federation has more than 240 representative offices around the world. Since most of the Foreign Ministry employees work in Moscow, a ceremony is held annually in the Kremlin Palace. High-level officials usually appear on the stage and congratulate specialists whose activities are somehow related to foreign policy. Employees are handed:
