Updates
Starting this year, a new approach will be applied to the games, taking into account the conditions in which players will have to conduct a match. The calendar of the Russian football championship 2019-2020 is designed in such a way that in winter competitions were held in the southern regions with a warm climate. Also, the list of cities hosting the winter games will include St. Petersburg, which has a stadium with a roof.
Each round will now include only one top match, which will be attended by a team that included five of the best FC last season. In addition, clubs from different European competitions are not eligible to participate in the weeks of the European Cup competitions.
Regulations
The Russian Championship 2019-2020, the calendar for which will be published below, will be held according to the standard scheme. A pair of teams will hold between themselves two games, at home and away. Clubs that take the last places will lose their positions:

- 14th and 13th places - holding two transitional matches (in the home arena and away) with the teams of the FNL Championship, located in the third and fourth positions.
FC, who scored the most goals in such matches, will take first place. If both teams score the same number of points, 15 additional minutes of the game will be added. In the case of a similar result and after such a measure, the winner is the team playing away. The winner can also be determined on the basis of a penalty shoot-out from an 11-meter length. Teams from the FNL Championship, who took the first and second positions at the end of the competition, will be able to take part in the Russian Championship next year.
