Muscovites and visitors of the city are waiting for the opening of the skating rink at VDNH in 2019-2020, because in the last November days the territory of the country's main exhibition is turning into the “City of Winter”. In a huge entertainment complex equipped areas for team games, skiing from the snow slides and on the ice.
In the season of 2019-2020 ice rinks at VDNH, two ice platforms will operate: Rocket and Flower Garden.
"Rocket"
It is located on Industry Square, the landmark is the Vostok rocket model. The ice area is 8600 m2 and able to simultaneously accommodate 2.4 thousand visitors. On the territory of the "Rocket" are equipped with:
- the rink itself;
- four cafeterias;
- skate rental and sharpening;
- left-luggage offices;
- medical Center.
You can get to the ice field through one of the two entrance pavilions. Ticket offices are located near the entrance, which is convenient for visitors.

After each riding session, a technological break is provided:
- From Tuesday to Friday, it lasts 2 hours - from 15.00 to 17.00.
- On Saturday, Sunday and holidays - 1 hour: from 13.30 to 14.30 and from 16.30 to 17.30.
Visitors need to leave the skiing area 15 minutes before the technological break begins - this is done for the safety of people, because special equipment is engaged in cleaning snow, chips, polishing the ice surface, eliminating cracks, scratches and other defects.
The cost of admission depends on the day and time you visit the ice rink:

A child ticket applies to children from 3 to 12 years old. For kids under the age of 3, ice skating is free. Visitors over 12 years old buy an adult ticket.
Flower Garden
Skating rink "Flower Garden" is located on the Central Avenue of VDNH. Landmark - fountains "Stone Flower" and "Friendship of Peoples." It is half the size of the "Rocket", designed for a simultaneous stay of 1200 people. The area of the field for skiing - 4500 m2.

In between sessions, a technological break is provided. As in the case of the "Rocket", guests must leave the site 15 minutes before it begins. Its duration:
- From Tuesday to Friday - 2 hours.
- On Saturday-Sunday and holidays - 1 hour after each arrival.

Children's ticket applies to the age group from 3 to 12 years. On the territory of "Flower Garden" there is also a playground for visitors 3-8 years old. It is equipped with Sapsan assistants. Children who are just learning to skate use these trailers for safety.

Benefits of visiting ice rinks
Preferential visit to the ice field is provided for certain categories of citizens.
The following categories of citizens can attend both sessions for free on weekdays and 1-2 arrivals on weekends and official holidays:
- orphans and children without parental care;
- invalids of childhood, I and II groups;
- accompanying disabled children of childhood and group I;
- members of large families;
- veterans of World War II;
- war veterans.
Russian students and students who have international ISIC cards can purchase entrance tickets at a discounted price from Tuesday to Friday:
- for the 1st session - 100 rubles;
- for the 2nd session - 200 rubles.
The preferential price is also valid during the winter holidays. Dates the administration of the "City of Winter" announces on the eve of the opening of the "City of Winter".
Pensioners can ride free of charge on weekdays from 11 to 15 hours - the schedule must be clarified closer to the opening of the ice field, as changes are possible in it.
To receive benefits, visitors must present a document confirming their social status. It can be an original or a copy.
Additional services
Discounts do not apply to equipment and skate rental, other additional services provided on the territory of the entertainment complex.
Hire of skates and equipment will cost visitors from 50 to 200 rubles. Beginners can use the “First Steps on Ice” service. Trainers and instructors teach adults and children skating techniques, help overcome fear. The duration of the lesson is 60 minutes. The cost of the lesson is 1000 rubles, paid in addition to the price of the admission ticket.
The cells in the left-luggage office are free.
