The Republic of Bashkortostan (abbreviated RB) is a subject of the Russian Federation, respectively, its production calendar for 2020 is compiled on the basis of the legislative framework approved in the country. However, it will be slightly different from the generally accepted working calendar in Russia, as it includes additional holidays, which increase the duration of the working population in Bashkortostan.
General information
The production calendar for 2020 for the Republic of Bashkortostan is a working tool of various bodies and structures of the enterprise that are engaged in the formation of work schedules (accounting, human resources, etc.). In addition, the 2020 calendar with holidays will be a good assistant for the residents of Bashkortostan in planning their working hours and holidays.
In Russian law, the concept of a “production calendar" as such does not exist. However, quite often this expression is used in everyday life. Its synonyms can be the “calendar of working hours”, “settlement timesheet”, etc. All weekdays and weekends, as well as shortened days, are compiled on the basis of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and the Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development, which is updated annually.
The version of the Order approved for the next year usually comes closer to the end of the previous one. That is, for 2020, the Order is approved in 2019. It prescribes the norms of working time based on the number of days in a year. Transfer of days off, if they coincide with official public holidays, is approved by a separate Government Decree annually.
Holidays in the Republic of Bashkortostan are additionally determined on the basis of laws in force in this territory adopted by the local Government. They differ somewhat from those generally accepted for all subjects of the Russian Federation.
Official holidays
Holidays in Bashkiria are regulated by the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, Law of the Republic of Belarus dated February 27, 1992 No. VS-10/21 “On Holidays and Memorable Days in the Republic of Bashkortostan” and the Decree of the local government on non-working days, which is usually published in the autumn of the previous year (for 2020, the Decree will be published at the end of 2019).
The production calendar - 2020 for Bashkortostan includes 11 holidays (for comparison, 8 are approved at the state level in the Russian Federation):
- January 01-08 - New Year holidays.
- January 07 - Christmas.
- February 23 - Defender of the Fatherland Day.
- March 08 - International Women's Day.
- May 01 - Holiday of Spring and Labor.
- May 09 - Victory Day.
- May 24 - Uraza Bairam.
- June 12 - Day of Russia.
- July 31 - Eid al-Adha.
- October 11 - Day of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
- November 04 - Day of National Unity.
In addition to the 8th all-Russian official celebrations in the territory of Bashkiria, 4 holidays are celebrated:
- Republic Day of Bashkortostan;
- Eid al Adha;
- Eid al-Adha;
- Republic Day Bashkortostan is a national event. Residents celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Bashkir SSR. The date of the celebration remains unchanged on the basis of the Law adopted in 1992 and falls on October 11th.
Eid al Adha and Kurban Bairam are religious Muslim holidays.On this occasion, an official holiday is established in those territories where Islam is the main religion (Adygea, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tatarstan, Chechnya, Crimea, etc.). The date of the celebration is calculated on the basis of the Muslim calendar, which differs from the Gregorian in duration (in Muslim, there are 354 days). Therefore, it is constantly shifting. The date depends on the month of Ramadan, in which the Muslim fast is held. Uraza-bairam is timed to the end of the post, and Kurban-bairam is celebrated 70 days after the end of the Hajj.
Standard working hours
2020 is a leap year, so it has 366 days (appears on February 29). Production calendar - 2020 The Republic of Bashkortostan will include 245 working days and 121 days off. A 1 hour reduction in the number of hours worked will occur on holiday days.

Weekend Transfer
According to article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, if the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, it must be rescheduled for the next business day. The exception is the New Year holidays - weekends from the period from January 01 to January 08 can be transferred to any weekdays during the year. For the rational use of employees' working time, the transfer of days off can be changed, which must be approved by a separate order. At the country level, the transfer of holidays is regulated by a Government Decree, which is published every year in the fall.

Shortened days
On a weekday before official holidays, the daily time norm is reduced by 1 hour. In 2020, these will be:
- April 30;
- May 08;
- June 11th;
- July 30;
- November 03;
- 31th of December.
Long weekend
In order to organize your vacation, it is not necessary to count only on the required vacation. For various trips or just a pleasant pastime, you can use the long weekend, which includes not only Saturday and Sunday. They are approved at the state level, so you can relax in this period without worrying about writing any statements or asking for leave from work.
