OGE in chemistry in 2020

In 2020, FIPI announced the reform of the OGE, which will affect KIMov in chemistry. Find out how the tasks for graduates graduating from grade 9 in the 2019-2020 academic year and studying under the new GEF standard, which entered into force in 2010, will be different, and also what will be the test date for all schools in Russia.

In 2020, GIA-9 will involve the delivery of 4 subjects, 2 of which students will be able to choose at their own discretion. For children planning to continue their studies in specialized classes or colleges, a combination of subjects “Biology + Chemistry” will be of interest. In this material, we propose to analyze in detail the innovations that FIPI has announced for the OGE in chemistry, and which will come into force in 2020.

Dates

In the framework of the main period of the OGE 2020, the chemistry exam will take place on such days:

OGE Schedule 2020

The draft calendar for the preliminary OGE 2020 period, as well as the autumn retake schedule, will be approved a little later (closer to November 2019). As soon as the information on the dates of delivery of chemistry during these periods is announced, we will be the first to talk about the news on the pages of our site.

Exam format

The new OGE format is the TOP topic for the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. The changes in KIMs are due to the features of the program, according to which all educational institutions of Russia have been working for the past 9 years. Nevertheless, the reform will deal exclusively with the content of tickets and the evaluation criteria, and the format of the GIA-9 will remain the same.

OGE 2020 in chemistry - news, changes

Ninth graders who are planning to take OGE in chemistry in 2020 should know these basic facts:

  • duration - 140 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes);
  • location - Chemistry cabinet at the school where the graduate studied;
  • allowed to use - non-programmable calculator and tables provided to each examiner along with KIM.

It is strictly forbidden to bring or use any other additional materials, as well as communication tools and calculators and other devices that can be used to store information or access the Internet, with you!

As additional materials, each participant of GIA-9 in chemistry is provided with:

  1. Mendeleev’s periodic system of chemical elements;
  2. table of solubility in water of salts, acids and bases;
  3. electrochemical series of metal stresses;
  4. set of reagents and equipment for the experiment.

When exactly in 2020 the OGE in chemistry will be held as part of the preliminary and main session, the FIPI will announce at the end of October 2019. As soon as the information is available, we will be the first to inform you about what the GIA-9 calendar for 2020 will be.

Major changes

In 2020, everyone who graduates from grade 9 will have to deal with a number of changes in the tickets of the Unified State Examination in chemistry. But you should not worry, since there are actually not many innovations and they are not as significant as in a number of other items.

In the new KIMs, the examiners will be offered 24 tasks (23 + a real experiment), while in 2019 there were 22 of them.

New at the OGE in Chemistry in 2020

Analyzing the distribution of topics given in the table, we see that new tasks were added in the 2nd part:

Part

Qty

Answer

№1

19 pcs.

brief

№2

5 pieces.

detailed

The recommended time for work with the 1st part, where graduates will meet basic level tests - 45 minutes, and the remaining time in 2020, teachers recommend using for working with the 2nd part of the OGE in chemistry and the experiment.

The new GIA-9 tickets will cover all sections studied under the new program:

  1. basic concepts;
  2. law and periodic table;
  3. the structure of the substance;
  4. chemical reactions;
  5. experimental chemistry.

In this case, the largest number of questions (7 pieces each) falls on topics No. 3 and No. 4.

The distribution of tasks by difficulty levels will be as follows:

Level

Qty

Base

14

Elevated

5

Tall

5

Of the innovations in 2020, it is also worth noting:

  • reduction in the number of questions with ready-made answer options;
  • growth in the number of tasks for comparison;
  • practical focus.

Grading

If the number of questions in new tickets has not increased significantly, the evaluation criteria have received significant improvements.

In 2020, the maximum result for passing OHE in chemistry is 40 points.

Recall that in 2019, for the exam in the “without experiment” format, you could get only 23 points, and “with the experiment” - 25.

Preparation for OGE 2020 in chemistry

The new performance evaluation framework will be as follows:

Score

Tasks

1

№1-3, 5-10, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19

2

№ 4, 11, 12, 15, 17

3

4

tasks of the 2nd part

Important! Part number 1 is digitized and checked automatically, so it is extremely important to correctly fill out the answer form. A block with detailed answers is checked by 2 experts (independently of each other).

The result of the automatic check is not in dispute. A third reviewer may be involved in case of significant disagreement in the opinions of two experts.

The result of the OGE in chemistry in 2020 affects the overall score of the certificate, so FIPI should develop a new recommended scale for converting test scores to a 5-point school mark. Due to a significant change in the maximum score, the 2019 scale is no longer relevant.

Secrets of preparation

Chemistry is a very interesting subject, but it should not be considered simple. Thorough preparation is the only way to successfully pass the Unified State Examination in chemistry in 2020, especially considering the changes announced by the FIPI.

Whether you go to a tutor or try to master the necessary amount of information yourself, depends on your level of self-organization and, of course, the quality of knowledge. One thing is for sure - you must have a person to whom you can ask a question in case of difficulties.

If you nevertheless decided to independently prepare for the OGE in chemistry during the 2019-2020 academic year, the advice of experienced teachers will be useful.

Tip number 1. Theory comes first

Without a thorough knowledge of the theoretical foundations, it is impossible to understand more complex concepts, so always repeat the topic with theory.

Do not rush to move on to solving the most complex tasks of KIM. Work through simpler questions first. This will be a kind of repetition and will subsequently make it easier to move on to questions that are more difficult.

Tip number 2. Do not forget about the formulas

In fact, it is impossible to pass chemistry “perfectly” without knowledge of chemical formulas, so first of all, try to remember how to calculate the mass fraction, mass, volume and quantity of a substance. Also useful are formulas for calculating density and output.

Tip number 3. Official cheat sheets

Together with KIM, you will be provided with three tables, which contain a lot of useful information. So, having learned to use the periodic table, you do not have to remember the properties of all elements, and the reaction table will help in solving chains and reactions.

As a material for preparation, you can use the open task bank, available on the FIPI website, as well as special publications focused on KIM 2020. If you have any questions, but you don’t have the opportunity to contact a tutor (or a teacher at school), video discussions of the demo version will help.

One of these videos dedicated to solving task No. 2 of the promising KIM OGE chemistry model in 2020, you can watch right now:
