According to statistics, more than 60% of all graduates choose social science as the subject of choice. In part, this decision is dictated by the fact that at first glance the subject seems to be one of the simplest. But, teachers warn that those who want to earn a high score on the OGE in society in 2020 will have to try and devote a lot of time to preparing.

Dates

In 2020, 9th graders will pass the Unified State Examination in social studies in the preliminary (March-April), mainly (May-June) and autumn (September) periods. Exam format

Although the content of KIMs in 2020 will receive a number of significant changes, the very format of the CSE on social studies will remain the same. In particular, it is safe to say that the final certification for 9th grades will be held on the basis of relatives for graduates of educational institutions, although without the presence in the teachers' office of subject materials that could affect the outcome of the exam.

Of the main points regarding GIA-9 in society, it is worth noting the following:

• exam duration - 150 minutes (2 hours 30 minutes);
• organizers do not provide additional materials;
• the use of third-party sources of information is strictly prohibited.

Testing the knowledge of graduates will cover such key areas studied in the framework of the school curriculum as: economics and law, politics and sociology, people and society, as well as spiritual culture.

Major changes

Unlike a number of other disciplines that have received minor adjustments, the OGE in social studies will receive a number of fundamental changes in 2020 and graduates of the 2019-2020 school year, first of all, you should familiarize yourself with the innovations that will distinguish the options for new KIMs.

It will not be superfluous to carefully work out new tasks for teachers, because most of them have already got used to standard questions and tasks, which have remained practically unchanged since 2009.

So, the first and most significant innovations that are striking when meeting with the demo and specifications are the change in the number of questions and the lack of a clear division of the ticket into logical blocks.

If previously students were offered to complete 31 tasks, then in the 2020 KIMs there will be only 24. In this case, the distribution of questions by type will have the following form:

Important! It will be required to provide a detailed answer not only in assignments No. 19-24, but also answering the questions in the first part of the work (No. 1, 4, 8, 11).

In general, examinees will be offered several types of tasks:

• choose one correct answer from several proposed;
• find some correct answers in the list of ready-made options (new!);
• establish mutual compliance;
• define a term that refers to the description and reveal its meaning (new!);
• explain the author’s thought based on social science knowledge (new!);
• drawing up the rules of social activity based on the above image and personal life experience (new!);
• work with the information presented in the form of a diagram;
• work with text.

It is worth noting that the number of questions that the examinees will be asked to answer by reading the text, in 2020 decreased from 6 to 4:

1. Make a plan for the text.
2. Give examples.
3. Give 2 explanations based on the text.
4. Write a short story on a given topic.

According to teachers, the new format of the OGE 2020 will significantly complicate the task for those who hoped to pass social studies with a minimum amount of knowledge. The tasks that fell into the new KIM are all very similar to those that can be found in the USE 2020 options, and the number of questions with the choice of one correct answer has significantly decreased, giving way to more complex tasks.

Now, to get high scores, you need not only to own the conceptual apparatus and theoretical base, but also be able to draw conclusions and express your own opinion on issues that are quite difficult for a ninth grader. Although, you can definitely cope with the new GIA-9 by accumulating all your strength and taking into account all the important nuances in the preparation.

Grading

Given the innovations announced by FIPI for the OGE KIMs in social studies, it is not surprising that the evaluation criteria in 2020 underwent a number of changes.

The maximum GPE score in social science in 2020 is 35 (in 2019, the maximum was 39 points).

At the same time, for 17 correct answers to questions with a short answer, you can get 18 points, and for 7 ideal detailed answers - 17 points. A more complete assessment map is given in the table:

FIPI will propose a table for translating the test score into grades for GIA-9, taking into account the proposed changes, closer to mid-autumn, when all the KIM variants will be finally approved.

Teachers who have already managed to familiarize themselves with the innovations in detail are unanimous in opinion - in 2020, preparation for the Unified State Examination in social studies will be more difficult than before, which means that it is definitely not worth delaying the start.

Where to begin? Naturally, with a repetition of the theoretical foundations, terminology and the most important concepts in the five main modules. To do this, fit:

1. special collections for preparing for the United State Exam 2019-2020;
2. school textbooks (but it will be more difficult to search and organize information in them).

To acquire an important skill, solving practical problems in 2020 should use only new tickets, or turn to an open task bank on the subject posted on the FIPI website. Old workshops are not relevant, since the new KIMs contain really more tasks for radically new formats.
