OGE in Physics in 2020

OGE in Physics in 2020

In 2020, only two subjects (mathematics and the Russian language) will be compulsory for graduates of 9th grade, and students will be able to choose 2 more disciplines on their own, passing the OGE in physics, social studies, computer science, a foreign language or other subjects from the standard list of disciplines.

Today we propose to analyze in detail the changes that FIPI planned in the new KIMs of the OGE in physics in 2020. The information will be useful to ninth-graders who plan to continue their education in specialized classes with an in-depth study of physics, mathematics or computer science, or who wish to enter college in this direction.

Dates

The main exams for graduates of Russian schools in the framework of the OGE in physics in 2020 will be held on such dates:

OGE Schedule 2020

FIPI will announce the exact dates of the preliminary period and the latest retakes annually held in September, in early November 2019.

Exam format

Although in 2020 almost all subjects will receive certain changes in the CMMs, the main format for conducting GIA-9 will remain unchanged.

What will the OGE in physics be in 2020?

In 2020, students from all schools in Russia will be taking exams in physics on the basis of their educational institutions. Although in many other subjects the presence of subject teachers is not allowed, the FIPI documentation for the OGE in physics clearly states that it is the “physics specialist” who should be present in the audience. His task is to conduct an introductory briefing and to ensure compliance with safety precautions when performing task No. 17 (conducting an experiment).

For the delivery of physics in 2020, certain days will be allocated (you can find out the dates in a special OGE calendar, which FIPI will present closer to mid-fall of 2019).

The exam lasts 3 hours (180 minutes).

In the course of the work, participants in the OGE will be allowed to use:

  • reference materials to be provided in a package with KIMs to each graduate;
  • classic rulers;
  • non-programmable calculators.

Important! Non-programmable is a calculator that can perform basic arithmetic operations and calculate trigonometric functions, but cannot store any information in memory and provide access to external sources or act as a data exchange device.

Major changes

The next reform of the OGE, which affected physics in 2020, is related to the fact that students in the 9th grade just graduate from the 1st grade in accordance with the requirements of the new education standard of the Federal State Educational Standard. Without going too deep into the clever terms that people like to operate in the field of education, let us say that the new OGE will be more focused on testing the practical skills acquired by the student and his ability to put theoretical knowledge into practice.

For the allotted GIA format of 180 minutes, ninth graders will have to answer 25 questions, including:

  1. questions on knowledge of the theoretical foundations of topics studied in grades 7–9;
  2. tasks of various difficulty levels;
  3. experiment, for the implementation of which it will be necessary to use laboratory equipment.

Experiment in OGE 2020 in physics

When preparing tickets, FIPI employees were guided by existing programs, which means that the exam will cover such key topics as:

  • Mechanics;
  • optics;
  • thermodynamics;
  • electrostatics;
  • the quantum physics.

All tasks will be divided into the following groups:

Group

1

Possession of the conceptual apparatus

2

Carrying out measurements and experiments

3

3

The principle of operation of devices

At the same time, in 2020 all possible versions of the OGE in physics will have a multi-level structure of tasks. Already today, we can confidently say that of the 28 tasks of KIM:

  • 16 will relate to the basic level of difficulty;
  • 6 - to increased;
  • 3 - to high.

The recommended time for completing tasks with a short answer is up to 5 minutes per question, for tasks with a detailed answer - approximately 15-25 minutes each.

All about OGE in physics in 2020

Most of the questions today arise to provide students with the necessary number of sets of equipment for conducting a physical experiment.

In the specifications, FIPI stipulates that in the absence of the necessary equipment in the school’s material and technical base, the equipment can be replaced with a similar one, but with different characteristics. The fact of the replacement of devices and materials must be notified to experts who will check the examination papers.

Grading

Having coped with all the tasks of the ticket, the participant of the OGE in physics in 2020 will be able to score 43 primary points. Recall that in 2019, the maximum score was 40.

The assessment system developed by FIPI implies the following principle of scoring:

Block

Points

Job Numbers

With a short answer

1

№ 3, 5-10, 15, 19, 20

With a short answer

2

№ 1, 4, 11-14, 16, 18

With a detailed answer

2

№ 21, 22

With a detailed answer

3

№ 17, 23-25

Note. In 2019, 4 points were awarded for the experimental task, and in the OGE of 2020 for this type of tasks represented by task No. 17, you can get only 3 points.

To transfer the test score of 5 to the assessment for GIA-9 in 2020, a new recommended scale will be developed, which FIPI will report additionally.

Recall that in 2019, in order to obtain a certificate, it was necessary to score at least 10 points at the OGE in physics. In 2020, the minimum threshold will not change, and the table for translating the GIA-9 result into an assessment will be as follows:

Total score

Rating

34-43

5

22-33

4

11-21

3

Training

Experienced teachers assure that in 2020 the preparation for the OGE in physics will not differ significantly and the ninth-grader who has successfully mastered the program in the subject can easily cope with the task independently.

Preparation for the OGE in physics in 2020

First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to such important points as:

  • theoretical foundations, laws, and basic formulas for all topics studied from grades 7 through 9;
  • ability to operate with the basic units of the SI system;
  • reading graphs of dependencies of quantities;
  • understanding of the principle of operation of the most commonly used devices and the ability to take readings for the experiment;
  • error calculation (new in OGE 2020);
  • skills to solve not only standardized, but also complex problems in which it is necessary to combine knowledge from different fields of physics;

You won’t have to memorize tabular values for OGE in physics in 2020, because the most necessary tables will be provided at KIM, which is demonstrated by the demo version presented on the FIPI website.

The main advice of teachers - decide as much as possible! For preparation in 2019-2020, it is quite possible to use tickets of past years, because many of the issues will also be encountered in the new KIMs. But it is better to work on 2020 collections, in which new types of tasks will be presented.

Also, to understand some difficult points will help the analysis of the demo version from online tutors. We suggest you watch one of these videos on the demo new KIM for GIA-9 in Physics 2020:
