Kia introduced the concept of a new generation of premium Mohave SUV, the release of which is scheduled for the first half of 2020. We bring to your attention the latest news on technical specifications, as well as the first live photos of new items that will allow you to fully appreciate the features of the exterior of a “masterpiece” of technological thought, because this is how the name of the Masterpiece concept is translated.
Model history
The first generation model is available since 2008. Although it was discontinued in North America in 2011, Mohave is still successfully sold in many countries in Asia and Russia, attracting buyers with benefits such as:
- reliable frame design;
- excellent off-road qualities;
- spacious comfortable lounge;
- reasonable price in comparison with analogues of European production.
Although many experts believed that after the release of Kia Telluride 2020, which became the largest representative of the SUV class in the brand line, Mohave could simply be discontinued, the company management decided to give a new life to the popular brand.
The presentation of the Masterpiece concept took place in April 2019 in Seoul, and by the autumn they promise to present the serial version of the premium crossover.
Exterior
The first thing that attracts attention is the spectacular design of the front part and the emblem, not familiar to our compatriots. Do not worry, Kia does not plan to rebrand, just for the South Korean market the brand has its own emblem, which flaunts on the grille of the new Kia Mohave model 2020.
The SUV has acquired a bright aggressive design, while maintaining a recognizable body shape and advantages such as a frame structure and a reliable, well-proven platform.
The bright exterior of the novelty is formed by:
- design solution that visually combines a radiator grill and head optics in a single element;
- cubic design of headlights in the style of "ice cubes";
- luminous vertical elements that critics have already managed to compare with the “tiger teeth”;
- massive front bumper with fog light modules and powerful protection, alluding to excellent off-road qualities;
- large wheels with an exclusive design;
- neat roof rails for installing an additional trunk;
- powerful thresholds that carry both aesthetic and practical load;
- 3D taillights;
- spectacular luminous Mohave inscription on the trunk door;
- rear bumper with two pairs of tips of the exhaust system, narrow strips of dimensions and additional protection.
In general, the new Mohave 2020 looks stylish and modern, which, according to manufacturers, should provide a fairly high interest in the model, despite the fact that in the Kia line it will still be located slightly lower than the Telluride previously presented.
Interior
The presentation of the concept made it possible to fully appreciate the exterior of the Mohave Masterpiece, but what the interior of the next-generation car will be like remains a mystery to guests and experts.
If you pay attention to some similarities in the exterior of Mohave and Telluride, we can assume that in the cabin of the new crossover you can also find some elements borrowed from an older brother.Although, the manufacturers promised that the interior will be completely new and will surprise everyone even more than the spectacular body design.

The new Mohave will initially appear in South Korea and China in early 2020. It is possible that the model will also be supplied to the United States.
