“Black” is the fourth Friday of November, which begins immediately after Thanksgiving (a public holiday in the United States) and opens the season of grand Christmas sales. The idea of holding Black Friday first arose in the American city of Lancaster in the 19th century and quickly spread throughout the country, and then beyond. Like the rest of the world, in 2020 Black Friday in Russia falls on November 27th.
Traditional events
The first day of the sales season has the biggest discounts that stores use to advertise and attract customers for the future. Those sellers who reduce the cost of goods by 70% or more receive the maximum return in the form of regular customers for the whole next year.
Despite the fact that the Black Friday date is not an official day off, many people take time off to take the queue from the night and be the first at the time the stores open. True, unlike American retail chains, most of which open on Black Friday at 5 am and even at midnight, stores in Russia do not change their work hours. But it is likely that by 2020 they will understand the advantages of this approach to sales and, in the struggle for buyers, will also open their doors early, offering the first visitors the greatest discounts.
After Black Friday, the sales season continues until Christmas, which the Americans celebrate on December 25th. But the most spectacular and impressive is precisely the start of this period. Internet sites are also actively participating in traditional events, the advantages of which are that there is no need to take a turn. It is enough to have time to buy the goods you like on the site at the proposed discount.
In Russia on this day most often buy:
- household appliances
- clothes and shoes;
- goods for sports;
- items for health and beauty.
Large retail chains begin to announce their planned stocks in early autumn. Therefore, buyers always have the opportunity to pre-determine purchases.
How to buy
Recently, more than 20 million Russians who buy goods worth 30 billion rubles annually participate in Black Friday sales. At the same time, many of them make spontaneous purchases and sometimes get things that are not very necessary and not at the best prices. In order not to make such mistakes in the future, when Russia will have Black Friday in 2020, you need to properly approach this kind of shopping.
Check prices
Unscrupulous sellers before lowering, first raise prices so as not to lose anything. Therefore, it is necessary to study the price list in advance or before buying to compare the cost of similar goods in other stores, and even better - to clarify it on the Internet. It is most convenient to do this in advance before going on sale.
Make a list
A pre-compiled list of necessary purchases will allow not only to avoid rash acquisitions, but also simplify the process of determining the relevance of the price. Next to each really needed product, you should indicate the price without a discount, and then simply compare it with the seller’s promotional offer. Without such a list, in the evening of November 27, you can become the owner of a mass of unnecessary things, many of which will be purchased more expensive than they cost on ordinary days.
Act fast
Since the start of Black Friday, you can not hesitate, because many stores really sell goods at huge discounts, but in limited quantities. Such an action is carried out with the expectation that those buyers who do not have time to take advantage of the promotional offer will take what is left on the shelves in selling excitement, even without discounts.
Due to the very high probability of fraud during sales at the same time as Black Friday in recent years, the opposite campaign has been held - "A day without shopping." It was proposed by American advertisers, claiming that a person does not become happier by acquiring many things. And although this is indeed so, you just need to find a middle ground, without being seduced by many purchases, but also not missing the opportunities that Black Friday opens up.
