What time the metro opens in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2020 is of interest not only to local residents, but also to guests of megacities, who, when drawing up their routes to visit memorable places, are forced to take into account the metro work schedule. The main difficulty lies in the fact that subway stations begin to serve passengers not at the same time, but according to a special schedule, which is made taking into account their location (proximity of large objects), structure, functions of the subway, as well as the size of passenger traffic.

Constant traffic jams and congestion on highways, as well as traffic congestion, which is why it is not always possible to quickly get to work or study, are increasingly forcing Muscovites and guests of the capital to use the subway, the work schedule of which is approved by the city hall. - Belarusian;
- Timiryazevskaya;
- Izmailovsky;
- Vykhino;
- Semenovskaya;
- Partisan, etc.

For the convenience of passengers in the Moscow metro, some stations will open at 5.20 in the morning, which is provided for by their work schedule. This applies to the following stops:
- Falcon;
- New Cheryomushki;
- Komsomolskaya
- An airport;
- Botanical Garden;
- Vladykino.
The Avtozavodskaya station’s work schedule deserves special attention: when using it, it is important for guests and residents of the capital to take into account the fact that on even days of the month it will open 5 minutes later at 5.35. And Salaryevo on these same days will serve passengers 2 hours longer - up to 3 a.m. (this is also true for the Riga stopping point, whose work depends on the arrival time according to the schedule of the last night train).
A special advantage can be enjoyed by passengers of stations that do not close at night:
- Khoroshevskaya;
- Shelepikha;
- Ramenki;
- Lomonosov Avenue;
- Petrovsko-Razumovskaya.
They can be closed only as a last resort if there are good reasons for this.
We cannot but mention monorail transport, the operation of which is more clear to residents and guests of the capital: you can use its services from 7 am to 11 pm, regardless of the day of the week or month.

Metro St. Petersburg
Metro stations in the northern capital do not open as synchronously as in Moscow, which can cause a lot of inconvenience to passengers. If you ignore this fact, you may not have time to get to your destination on time, especially if you need to do this in the morning. In this regard, when planning a trip, you should familiarize yourself with the schedule for servicing citizens on the official website of the metro, where all the necessary information is indicated.
The very first (at 5.30 in the morning) in St. Petersburg the following stations open:
- Kirovsky factory;
- Auto;
- Kupchino.
A little later, passengers began to be served by stopping points Zvezdnaya and Ploshchad Aleksandra Nevskogo 1 (5.31 and 5.32 in the morning, respectively). Primorskaya will work from 5.31 only on even days of the month, and Vasileostrovskaya and Proletarskaya at 5.33 on an ongoing basis.
It will be possible to leave the Academicheskaya and Lobby 2 Sportivny stations no earlier than 5.34 in the morning. At the same time, they will not be closed until 1.05 at night.
The passenger transportation schedule may be revised due to natural disasters or a sharp deterioration in weather conditions. In addition, on certain days, the metro can operate around the clock if such a decision is made by the city leadership. Usually the metro does not close on holidays such as Easter, May 1.9 and 2020 is unlikely to be an exception to this rule.
