The first thing that is necessary to prepare for the exam in literature for everyone who plans to take the exam in 2020 is the official list of literature compiled by the FIPI.
The list contains all the works that graduates need to familiarize themselves with at the preparation stage in order to find arguments for compositions of various topics.

The recommended list of literature compiled by experts of the Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements for the SEE 2020 on literature is given in the draft codifier of content elements.
Until the end of the XVIII century
From Old Russian literature on the Unified State Examination the work "The Word about Igor's Regiment" is taken out, and from the literature of the 18th century:
- comedy "Undergrowth" (V. A. Zhukovsky);
- poetry "Monument" (G. R. Derzhavin).
1st half of the 19th century

2nd half of the 19th century
In the second half of the XIX century, the most famous novels were written, studied in the school curriculum “Fathers and Sons” (I. Turgenev) and “War and Peace” (L. Tolstoy). In addition to these works, the FIPI literature list for passing the Unified State Examination 2020 included poems, tales, poems, drama, and even memoirs.

Graduates are recommended to choose a fairly impressive list of authors, among which it is worth choosing at least 3 in the block of 3 prose writers in the block of poets and reading works of their own choice.

It is necessary to start preparing for the exam in literature with a detailed familiarization with the codifier and specifications of 2020. These documents describe in detail what will be checked during the test and what tasks may be encountered in KIM.
After familiarizing yourself with the basic information, it is worth repeating the theory of literature, and after that, proceed to work on the literary works indicated in the list.
Experienced educators recommend paying attention to such important aspects when working with texts:
- biography of the author;
- Important dates
- plot and essence of the conflict (2-3 sentences);
- Full character names
- interesting phrases.
Important! Try to read all the works in the original, do not give in to the desire to use abridged versions or criticism. Often in these "substitutes" miss important points.
