The work of Russian Post on the New Year holidays of 2020 will be adjusted. On some days, the state institution will be open one hour less than usual, and on some days it will not work at all. In order to correctly build their plans, every Russian needs to know the work schedule of post offices in the New Year.
Weekend
Postmen and other postal workers need the opportunity to celebrate New Year and Christmas - just like all other citizens of the Russian Federation. Therefore, they will have the opportunity to relax for 3 days:
- January 1 (Wednesday);
- January 2 (Thursday);
- January 7 (Tuesday).
In the remaining days, employees will work in normal mode, because it is simply not possible to suspend mail for a long time. This government agency must uninterruptedly perform such important tasks as:
- Forwarding correspondence, parcels, etc.
- The issuance of a pension, which some pensioners receive through the post offices at the beginning of each month.
- Making transfers, paying off loans, paying for utilities (these and other cash transactions can also be done by mail).
Note! On all other days of January 2020, mail should work in a standard format. However, difficulties may arise due to internal post office schedules. For example, if the branch usually does not work on Saturdays, then on January 4 (Saturday) it may also be closed.
Shortened days
The work of mail on New Year's holidays in 2020 implies the presence of shortened days. It:
- December 31 (Tuesday, New Year's Eve);
- January 6 (Monday, Christmas Eve).
On these dates, postal branches throughout the Russian Federation will operate 1 hour less than usual. It’s impossible to say exactly the time at which the offices will close, because they have different internal schedules. For example, if usually the mail closes at 18:00, then on the indicated days it will close at 17:00. Other postal branches will work according to a similar scheme.
24 hour and duty departments
In most settlements there are round-the-clock and duty post officeswhere a citizen can go even in the most emergency situation. You can find out the addresses of such branches on the official website of Russian Post. To do this, you must use the search bar, enter the address or index of your location, and also select the option "24/7".
However, the holidays of 2020 will adjust the work of even the round-the-clock and on-duty branches of the Russian Post. We are talking about the following changes:
- From 21:00 on December 31 (Tuesday) to 10:00 on January 1 (Wednesday) round-the-clock and on-call departments will be closed.
- January 3 (Friday) and January 8 (Wednesday), some 24-hour and on-call offices in Moscow will be open only from 08:00.
Main Post Offices
On New Year's holidays in 2020, the operating mode of the main post offices of the Russian Federation (main post offices) will change. It is known that:
- On New Year's Eve, the main post office in Moscow, located at Moscow, st. Myasnitskaya, d. 26, branch 101000.
- On New Year's Eve, the main post office in St. Petersburg, located at St. Petersburg, ul. Pochtamtskaya, house 9, branch 190,000.
On other days, the main post offices will work around the clock.Closer to the New Year, the main post offices of other settlements will also make adjustments to their schedules.
