In the 2019-2020 academic year, students enrolled in the GEF program from the 1st grade will pass the OGE, which means that the exam itself will expect significant changes that will affect both compulsory subjects and the format of KIMs in various disciplines.
We offer a more detailed understanding of how the OGE 2020 will differ from the exams of previous years, how many subjects are to be passed and what nine-graders should generally prepare for.
Key 2020 changes
When discussing the innovation of OGE 2020, they are most often interested in whether the reform will affect compulsory subjects and the total number of disciplines passed in grade 9.
So, in 2020, ninth-graders will have to demonstrate knowledge in 4 subjects (previously the opinion was voiced that there could be 6 of them). Will always be binding Russian language and maths, and 2 more can be selected from the list of offered items.
Earlier, it was often said that by 2020 the list of disciplines of the OGE should be expanded, and the history of Russia and the English language should be included in compulsory subjects.
Although the ministry did not abandon the idea of a broader control of the knowledge of graduates, the introduction of new compulsory exams is unlikely this academic year, because at the beginning of July 2019 there were no official announcements of such innovations.
Most likely, the introduction of new mandatory exams was decided to be postponed due to the fact that in 2019-2020 there will be a lot of changes in CMMs and the combination of two major reforms of the OGE in one year could significantly complicate the preparation process.
Moreover, in the opinion of teachers, the introduction of OGE in English into compulsory subjects as early as 2020 could cause a huge number of poor results, because in order for graduates to show a good level of language proficiency by grade 9, it is necessary to raise the quality of teaching from at least 5 class.
Otherwise, the format of the exam in 2019-2020 will not change. The 9th-graders will take the OGE on the basis of their schools for KIMs, developed taking into account the GEF program and common for all regions of the Russian Federation.
KIM changes
Since changes will occur in the KIMs of the OGE 2020, it is important for teachers and students not to miss the latest news from FIPI in order to be able to timely respond to changes in tickets and new requirements.
What examinations will be taking into account the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard, are promisingly demonstrated by promising models of KIMs posted on the FIPI website.
Important! Although the final version of tickets can be as close as possible to the projects currently presented, it is worth considering that during the discussion, changes can be made to KIMy hedgehog.
As soon as FIPI presents the final versions of the OGE 2020, we will be the first to tell you about what changes are worth paying attention to. In the meantime, we offer to find out what innovations are in the KIMs at the moment.
Russian language
Testing of the oral part of the Russian language exam has been completed and in 2020 graduates will take “speaking” as admission to the main unit of GIA-9 (as the December essay for the exam). The oral examination will take place in February and will be evaluated on the basis of the "stand-by" / "non-stand-by" system.
In 2020, a written exam in the Russian language will include 9 tasks, divided into 3 blocks:
Part | number | Type of |
№1 | 1 PC. (No. 1) | exposition |
№2 | 7 pcs (No. 2-8) | with a short answer |
№3 | 1 PC. (No. 9) | reasoning |
235 minutes are allotted for the work, which is equivalent to 3 hours 55 minutes.
The maximum primary score is 33, 9 of which can be obtained for essay-reasoning, and 7 - for presentation and another 7 for completing tasks of the 2nd part.
Maths
One of the most difficult, according to students, subject - mathematics, in 2020 will be presented at the OGE KIM of 26 tasks (previously there were 20). The main innovation will be the lack of a clear division into blocks of algebra and geometry.
The structure of KIM will be as follows:
Part | number | Type of |
№1 | 20 pcs. (No. 1-20) | with a short answer |
№2 | 6 pcs (No. 21-26) | with a detailed answer |
The duration of the work is 235 minutes.
It is allowed to use reference materials, the list of which is approved by the FIPI (table of squares and basic formulas). Please note that reference materials are provided to each graduate in the examination package. It is strictly forbidden to bring anything with you!
The maximum number of points is 32, of which 20 can be obtained for completing the tasks of the 1st part, and another 12 for tasks with a detailed answer.
Story
Teachers recommend that all graduates pay special attention to such a subject as history - they plan to introduce it into mandatory, although there is no reliable information that this will happen in the framework of the Unified State Examination 2020 or 2021.
In total, the examinees have to answer 21 questions, divided in KIM into two parts:
Part | number | Type of |
№1 | 14 pcs. (No. 1-14) | with a short answer |
№2 | 7 pcs (No. 15-21) | with a detailed answer |
All tasks must be completed in 180 minutes (3 hours).
Questions will cover three main historical periods:
- from antiquity to the beginning of the 16th century;
- the period from the XVI to the XVII century;
- the period from the XVII to the beginning of the XX century
The maximum history work score is 34!
Foreign language
Another subject, a promising KIM model of which should be of particular interest. It is not yet known whether the structure and level of complexity of the questions proposed for the OGE in 2020 will be preserved if the subject becomes mandatory. But, in their work, teachers need to focus on the proposed level A2 on a European scale when building lessons.
Unlike the Unified State Exam 2020, the Unified State Exam for Foreign Languages will not distinguish between oral and written parts. Ninth graders will be offered a single exam, which includes 35 questions, divided into 4 blocks:
Part | Block | Number of questions |
№1 | listening | 8 |
№2 | reading | 8 |
№3 | vocabulary and grammar | 15 |
№4 | speaking | 3 |
The total lead time is 135 minutes, but experts recommend correctly distributing them between blocks in a ratio of 65/30/25/15 minutes, respectively.
The maximum (for correctly completed 35 tasks) can score 68 points.
According to statistics, ninth-graders most often choose English for delivery, but in the 2019-2020 academic year it will also be possible to pass OGE in German, French or Spanish. The structure of KIMs is approximately the same for all languages. More information about the specifications and grading of these exams can be found on the FIPI website.
Social science
Among all the subjects that were submitted at the OGE in 2020, social science will be very popular, and we propose to find out what changes will occur in tickets adapted to the requirements of the GEF.
It's no secret that students often make a choice in favor of this subject, considering it one of the simplest. But, teachers warn that in order to successfully pass the Unified State Examination in society, it will be necessary to master a huge amount of information in such areas as:
- economy;
- man and society;
- spiritual culture;
- politics;
- right.
There are 24 tasks in the ticket:
Number of questions | Type of |
17 pcs. | with a short answer |
7 pcs | with a detailed answer |
The execution time is 150 minutes, which is equivalent to 2 hours 30 minutes.
The maximum score is 35.
Physics
First of all, it is necessary to pay attention to this subject to children who plan to continue their education in specialized classes or lyceums of a physical and mathematical direction.
The ticket will feature 28 assignments covering topics:
- Mechanics;
- thermal phenomena;
- electromagnetism;
- the quantum physics.
It will be necessary to answer 16 basic questions, 6 advanced and 3 high level in 180 minutes (3 hours).
It is allowed to use non-programmable calculators with the ability to calculate trigonometric functions and a ruler. Also, in each KIM, reference materials are provided that may be needed when solving various physical problems: constant values, tables of specific gravity and specific heat, etc.
The maximum GPE score in physics is 43 points.
Computer science
OGE on computer science and ICT will be taken by ninth-graders who wish to further connect their lives with programming, cybersecurity, robotics and other areas that are popular today.
KIM 2020 on computer science contains 15 tasks, divided into two blocks:
Part | number | Type of |
№1 | 10 pieces. (No. 1-10) | with a short answer |
№2 | 5 pieces. (No. 11-15) | with a detailed answer |
In this case, tasks No. 1-10 are aimed at checking theoretical knowledge on the subject, and tasks No. 11-15 are performed at the computer. The answer is provided in the form of a file that must be saved on a PC with the appropriate name and extension.
150 minutes (2.5 hours) are allotted to complete the work.
The maximum score is 19.
Chemistry
The chemistry exam in 2020 will consist of 24 questions, covering 6 main blocks studied by schoolchildren. The division into parts will be as follows:
Part | number | Type of |
№1 | 19 pcs. (No. 1-19) | with a short answer |
№2 | 5 pieces. (No. 20-24) | with a detailed answer |
In this case, special attention will be paid to chemical reactions and substances. For each topic there will be 7 tasks, while there will be only 4 questions in experimental chemistry, 3 for knowledge of the periodic table, and only one for basic concepts.
2 hours are given to complete the work.
The maximum score is 40.
Biology
A promising model of the OGE 2020 in biology presented on the FIPI website includes 30 tasks that will be distributed by difficulty level as follows:
- basic - 18;
- increased - 9;
- high - 3.
A ninth-grader must cope with work in 3 hours (180 min.)
A maximum of 45 points can be scored in a biology exam.
Geography
In total, 30 assignments covering the following key topics of the course will be offered to examinees:
Section | Number of questions |
Sources of geography. of information | 7 |
The nature of the Earth and people | 6 |
Continents and oceans | 2 |
Nature management | 2 |
Geography of the Russian Federation | 13 |
As can be seen from the table, special attention will be paid to knowledge of the geography of the native country. For this module, you can get almost half of the accrued primary points.
The maximum examiner can score 31 primary points, 13 of which are for knowledge of the geography of Russia.
Future Years Announced
Although in 2019-2020, the students who pass the OGE already know how many subjects are to be handed over and which of them will be compulsory, graduates of 2021 and subsequent years will be less lucky. A whole range of innovations is being developed for them, including:
- transition of the Unified State Examination and the Unified State Examination into a digital format;
- an increase in the number of compulsory disciplines (as options offer: the history of Russia, English and geography);
- an increase in the total number of GIA-9 items.
If we examine in more detail what changes are coming in the format of exams, then the innovations of the OGE 2020 will seem insignificant.
One of the latest news discussed in the media is the use of Internet resources in the Unified State Examination and the Unified State Examination in humanitarian subjects. Such an innovation was proposed to be implemented after the transfer of the GIA into a digital format.
One thing is clear - every year the OGE is getting closer and closer to the format of the Unified State Exam.
