Information about the upcoming salary increase for FSUE Russian Post employees came from the company's general director. Nikolai Podguzov during a working meeting with President Vladimir Putin shared his plans to improve working conditions. Work on improving the quality of services provided to compatriots, and raising salaries - these are one of the top-priority tasks of the enterprise for 2020.
Activities in this direction have been conducted for several years. The organization has already passed the phase of active digital transformation and has repaired more than 3 thousand post offices. As a result, the productivity of the company's employees has increased significantly, and there have been much fewer queues and complaints from visitors about slow service. The incomes of people working in the post office, starting in 2018, began to grow at a faster pace than before. And this year, a special program was launched to increase the salaries of employees of the main production. The goal is to bring the level of monthly income to the average market for similar professions. The first phase of the program has already been implemented - since May 1, more than 45 thousand employees have increased revenue by 20%. The second wave of salary growth will begin in November 2019, and will end in the fall of 2020. In regions where there has not yet been indexation, salaries will be increased:
- postmen;
- telecom operators;
- Heads of liaison offices
- Deputy Heads of Post Offices.
In total, according to the Director General of FSUE Russian Post, the postal company will total 11.5 billion rubles for these purposes. The joyful news about the increase in salaries will affect 224 thousand employees. As a result of the implementation of the special program, wages will increase by an average of 20%.
FSUE Russian Post includes 45 thousand branches throughout Russia. The total number of employees is approaching 350 thousand people.
Sources of financing
Due to the promising directions of development of activity, the post office was able to significantly increase cash flows and net profit. According to official data for 2018, the most revenue increased in the following areas:
- postal business by 7%;
- Shipping business by 16%.
Actual mail revenue increased 3.5 times. This result was achieved due to:
- cost reduction;
- increase in income from settlements with foreign postal administrations;
- retail business development.

From digital services, to the services of which more than 14 million Russians are connected, net profit amounted to 6.8 billion rubles. Good financial turnovers made it possible to use the organization’s own funds as a source of financing for increasing salaries.
Salary news began to be accompanied by rumors of a possible layoff. According to Nikolai Podguzov, such conversations have no reason. The Director General assured that in the near future the reduction of workers is not expected. This also applies to unprofitable points.Instead of eliminating them, it was decided to develop retail trade in them. The increase in salaries for postal employees is aimed, among other things, at increasing the prestige of professions. Making a salary for all postal employees at least 20–25% higher is a long overdue decision, said Evgeny Udilov, head of the education department at the Phoenix Trading and Investment Institute. The amount for the month depends on the region where the branch is located or on the district center to which it is attached. So, for example, the postman in the capital and in the Moscow region receives an order of magnitude higher than similar workers in the regions. In 2019, the Muscovite postman receives about 20 thousand rubles, in the Rostov region - 13 thousand rubles. The average income of mailers in Russia today is 16 thousand rubles. By the end of 2020, this figure should increase by no less than 20%. Changes are also expected in the cash allowance calculation algorithm. Previously, the size of the salary depended on the actual amount of work, climatic conditions, and terrain. Under the new rules, he will depend more on the position of the employee.
