For the first time, the Mitsubishi company introduced the concept of an all-electric crossover back in 2017, and a year later, in November 2018, the car of the future made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Although the car has been provoking keen interest among experts and motorists all over the world for many years, the manufacturer is in no hurry to reveal the secrets of what technical characteristics the Mitsubishi 2019-2020 electric crossovers of the model year will receive, limiting themselves to spectacular presentations of the exterior of the new item.

Rivian

The new large electric car, which in 2020 will be presented in two models - a roomy 7-seater SUV and pickup.

The main advantage of the model will be an impressive power reserve, which, according to the manufacturer, will be 660 km. The heart of the new product will be a 147 kW electric motor with a torque of 14,000 Nm, capable of speeds up to 200 km / h, accelerating to hundreds in 3.2 s.

Both cars will receive a quick charge function that will allow you to get enough battery power in just 30 minutes to cover 350 km.

Among the innovative options, cars will receive a 3-generation autonomous movement system.

There will be a novelty in the US market at the end of 2020. The price of the electric crossover will start at $ 61,500.

Lexus

It became known that in 2020, Lexus also plans to bring to the market a new luxury crossover, which will be based on the LF-1 Limitless concept car.

It is expected that the model will compete with the Lamborghini Urus, surpassing it in technical characteristics, but becoming a more affordable representative of the cars of the future in terms of price.

Under the hood of the novelty should be a powerful 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo gasoline, the total power of which, together with two additional electric motors, will be 430 hp. For the TOP version of the model in Lexus, a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 at 670 hp was stocked.

The price of the hybrid crossover Lexus will start at $ 150,000.

Chevrolet FNR-CarryAll

The new crossover, a prototype of which was recently introduced in Guangzhou, looks like a stretched Blazer, although it is based on the Cadillac XT5 platform.

The six-seat model will receive:

• 3 rows of seats;
• carbon fiber roof and panoramic sunroof;
• "Boomerang" rear struts;
• 22 wheels;
• Brembo ceramic brakes.

Like many powerful crossovers 2019-2020, the car will receive a few variations of power units. At the moment, it is known about 2 gasoline engines with a volume of 2.5 or 3.6 liters and a capacity of 309 and 365 hp. respectively.

Hyundai Saga EV

The new supercompact electrocross is an exclusive vision of Hyundai city cars of the future generation.

In addition to the futuristic body design and spectacular 19-inch wheels, the model will receive:

• rubber roofing;
• cameras instead of classic rear-view mirrors;
• new roof rails;
• touch pens;
• ground clearance 302 mm.

Thanks to its compact size (length 4,028 mm), it will be very convenient for such a car to maneuver in urban conditions, and an electric motor with a capacity of 204 hp. and a battery with a capacity of 64 kWh will provide 470 km of autonomous crossover.

Fiat fastback

The conceptual coupe-shaped crossover from the Fial company was presented on November 6, 18 in São Paulo.

In the technical details of the novelty, the automaker has so far been silent, showing only the exterior of the car, which can go on sale in 2020.

It is known that the model will be based on the Small US Wide 4 × 4 platform, which is characterized by the transverse position of the engine and an independent rear suspension.

Experts predict that the Fiat Fastback will compete in the Brazilian market with another new 2020 crossover, the Renault Arkana.

Renault Arkana

The new compact crossover, which will begin to be launched in 2019, will be built on the units of the familiar Duster, but the model will get a more striking and expressive design, as well as a package of the most advanced options.

Mercedes-Benz GLB

The model will attract attention with its impressive dimensions and brutal cubic body design.

Name some similarities with the G-Class model, the new product will receive:

• length 4 550 mm;
• 5 or 7-seater salon;
• Record size of the luggage compartment for its class;
• power plant for 150 kW;
• power reserve of 400 km.

Mercedes-Benz ELA

One of the most anticipated electric crossovers from the company Mercedes is designed to become a direct competitor for the Tesla Model Y.

The car will be built on the basis of GLA, but will become another representative of all-electric Mercedes models. The heart of the car will be a 75 kW powerplant (as standard). We expect more details about how the power reserve and new equipment will be closer to the official premiere to be held in 2019.

Genesis GV80

Recall that the premium brand belongs to Hyundai and is represented on the Russian market by three sedans. But in the near future in the brand’s line-up there should appear new spectacular crossovers of the 2020 model year and everyone is interested in when the new items can be purchased at car dealerships in Russia.

For the first time, the concept of the GV80 model was introduced back in 2018. At the moment, the car passes the stage of road tests and periodically appears in the camera lenses, hiding behind camouflage film.

BMW iX3

BMW is also conducting the latest tests of its all-electric crossover, dubbed the iX3.

At the same time, it is obvious that cars are absolutely environmentally friendly, because they do not have exhaust pipes.

Since the tests of new products are held in Scandinavia, where the average temperature is -10ºС, it can be assumed that the cars will be fully prepared for the harsh conditions of the Russian winters, which promises them special popularity in the domestic market, because it is no secret that many electric cars are bad enough survive operation in conditions of subzero temperatures.

BMW iNEXT

Another electrocross of 2020 from BMW will be the iNEXT model, which so far has been shown only in teaser video format.

Today it is known that a 4th generation autopilot is being tested, but in the serial version of the model, most likely, a more reliable and tested version of the 2nd generation will be installed.

Kia telluride

At a motor show in New York, a prototype of Kia's Telluride flagship crossover was introduced, which should replace the current Mohave model.

The model, which was shown in New York, interested experts and guests of the auto show with such elements as:

• unusual placement of the spare wheel;
• spectacular design of the front and head optics;
• R20 wheels
• powerful V6 under the hood.

The presented concept is made in the author’s design and you can understand how a production car will look like by visually discarding all that is unnecessary. Judging by the photos of camouflaged cars being tested on the roads, the spare wheel will still move to the luggage compartment. It is possible that there will be other changes that the manufacturer will talk about closer to the premiere of the new product.

The closest competitor to the model will be the Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster.

Hyundai HDC-2 Grandmaster (Palisade)

In July 2018, Hyundai introduced a prototype of the large 8-seater crossover HDC-2 Grandmaster.

SUV Palisade (name has not yet been officially confirmed) will receive:

• bright aggressive design;
• 3 rows of seats;
• functional infotainment system with additional monitors for passengers;
• a complete set of systems to help the driver;
• adaptive cruise control;
• 3.3-liter bi-turbocharged gasoline V6 with 365 hp;
• 8-speed automatic transmission.

It is possible that the serial HDC-2 Grandmaster will also have a hybrid version.

Maxus tarantula

The leadership of the young Chinese brand SAIC (Shanghai) announced that the serial version of the new Tarantula concept will be produced not only for the domestic market of China, but also for Europe.

Today, the company cannot boast of a large number of sales. But, the brand is actively developing and plans to enter the world market with the all-electric Tarantula crossover model. Although, it is possible that the car will have 4 versions:

• with gasoline turbo engine;
• with a turbodiesel;
• electric;
• hybrid.

They will be aggregated depending on the configuration with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission.

Since with the acquisition of the Maxus brand, SAIC received a wide dealer network, soon the new product will be available in showrooms in different countries, from Saudi Arabia to Ireland and Colombia.

Alfa romeo castello

The model will be the most spectacular of a series of new SUV cars from Alfa Romeo.

The car will be constructed on the basis of the Stelvio model and is already positioned today as a competitor to the BMW X5, Mercedes GLE models and other popular representatives of the SUV class from the world's leading automakers.

The engine range of the new crossover will include:

• several options for 4-liter gas turbo engines;
• 2.9 liter twin turbo diesel

The car is scheduled for release in 2020, so we can find out more about the new equipment in the near future, when it will officially be presented at one of the world's car dealerships.

Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

In 2019, Volkswagen promises to introduce a new serial crossover in the style of the popular Atlas model. The concept of the novelty was presented in New York and interested visitors with a new design and a yard of technical innovation.

Among the features of the new SUV from Volkswagen:

• new head optics with LEDs;
• large angle of the windshield;
• R22 wheels
• changed dimensions (the car will become shorter, but wider);
• hybrid powerplant with a total power of 355 hp.;
• 8-band automatic transmission with the innovative 4MOTION system.

Model production will begin in 2019 in Tennessee. Whether the new hybrid Atlas will be presented on the Russian market is still unknown.

Nissan IMx

The model will become the third electric car in the brand line. It will be built on the Leaf II generation platform. Presenting the prototype, Taisuke Nakamura said that these are not just ideas, but the company's real plans for the near future and, most likely, the car will receive a production version in 2020.

Nissan announces quite enviable technical specifications for its electric SUV news:

• power 420 hp;
• 60 kWh battery;
• 350-400 km of movement without recharging.

UAZ Patriot (3170)

Will there be a new UAZ Patriot? This question is being asked by many domestic motorists, because conversations about the next generation of a powerful off-road vehicle have been going on for a long time, but the official presentation has never happened.

The network has regular photos of the possible design of a domestic SUV in 2020, which are very reminiscent of the prototype Mercedes SUV.

If the new reincarnation of the Patriot is destined to materialize. Then we will see a really big car with a bright futuristic design, a spectacular body kit, an impressive ground clearance and a top speed of 190 km / h.
