Large chain stores "Magnet" or "Pyaterochka" are especially popular on New Year's holidays due to the abundance of promotions and discounts. Considering the needs of customers, for many years a general work schedule was formed on New Year's Eve and January 1. The company promises that during the New Year holidays of 2020, stores will work to the delight of visitors.
Pyaterochka
Most of the Pyaterochka retail chain stores operate according to the standard schedule in Russia. On December 31, buyers will be able to purchase the necessary goods until 21.00. The opening of the network in the new year is scheduled for 13.00. However, at some points, the schedule can be extended: until 23.00 before the New Year and from 10.00 in the morning of January 1, about which an announcement will be posted at the entrance.
The owner of Pyaterochka, the X5 Retail Group, also operates the Karusel and Perekrestok chains. Therefore, the way stores will work on the night and morning of January 1, 2020 is unlikely to be different.
A number of large hypermarkets will sell goods until midnight or switch to round-the-clock mode on New Year's Eve.
"Magnet"
Given that the Magnit network itself is more developed than Pyaterochka’s, the work of stores on January 1, 2020 will be slightly different. Here, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the development of a large company and the innovations developed in 2019, which affected a number of regions throughout the Russian Federation.
“Magnet at home”
The largest supermarket chain in the Russian Federation in most cases follows the standard New Year work schedule. Shops will be open until 21:00 in the evening of December 31. After the celebration of the New Year, it will be possible to replenish home stocks of food from 13.00. A number of stores will open on January 1 from 10.00.
Similar opening hours apply to the new Magnit City stores, which opened in May 2019 in Krasnodar and a number of cities in the Russian Federation. This is one of the few cafes that are guaranteed to serve visitors the first morning of 2020.
Hypermarkets "Magnet"
The traditional work schedule of the largest chain stores has not yet been changed. On New Year's Eve, hypermarkets will serve visitors until 23.00. On January 1, from 9.00, they will open again, earlier than most other points where you can buy non-food goods and equipment.
In large cities of the Russian Federation, at least 1 hypermarket will be open around the clock. Their addresses will be determined at the end of December.
"Magnet cosmetics"
Despite the fact that household chemicals and cosmetics do not belong to the category of food products, the rules of the network apply to these outlets. Therefore, until 21.00 before the holiday and from 13.00 after the New Year's banquet "Magnet-cosmetics" will be open to visitors.
The situation is similar in the work schedule of the Magnit-Pharmacy network, which opened in 2017. The points will not follow the traditional pharmacy New Year's schedule and will open earlier, at the same time as other Magnit retail stores.
"Evening magnet"
In Russia, there is no ban on the sale of alcohol on New Year's Eve. Therefore, no changes are expected in how the new representative of Magnit will work on January 1, 2020. The few alcohol stores opened in August 2019 will comply with the general rules of the network and the legislation of the Russian Federation. Therefore, in the evening before the New Year’s Eve, it will be possible to buy alcohol until 10 p.m., and on the first day of 2020, drink coffee from 13 p.m.However, on the eve of the holiday, schedule changes are possible, about which a notification will hang at the entrance to the alcohol market.
How competitors work
Given that revenue is the main criterion for success in sales, other large food retail chains in the Russian Federation will also try to keep up. In general, if you focus on how much Pyaterochka or Magnit works on January 1, 2020, you can predict an approximate work schedule for Auchan, Okey, Dixy and other competing firms. It will differ by a maximum of 1-2 hours. So, before the celebration and after the festive banquet dedicated to the meeting of the White Metal Rat, you can easily buy everything you need in the usual supermarkets.
