The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a schedule for the New Year holidays. How to relax on New Year's holidays in 2020? How many additional days of rest will the Russians receive and will the dates be postponed, as in previous years?
31st - to the office
The Rostrud of the Russian Federation reminded the Russians for 3 months that December 30 and 31, 2019 are working days. The press service of the department focused on the fact that the New Year weekend this time will begin on January 1, 2020 and will last until January 8 inclusive. On the 9th, full-fledged workdays of the coming year begin.
The upcoming winter holidays in duration will be two days shorter than in the season 2018-2019. Then they started on December 30, because the 30th and 31st fell on Saturday and Sunday - a legal weekend.
This time, pre-holiday dates fall on Monday and Tuesday - business days:
- 12/30/2019 - a day with full employment;
- 12/31/2019 - 1 hour shorter, since it is considered pre-holiday.
Transfers will be
Workdays and holidays on the eve of New Year and Christmas holidays are regulated by Art. 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
Weekend dates will also be rescheduled - the Russian government has already prepared an appropriate resolution. This is always done well in advance so that those employed in production can familiarize themselves with the schedule and plan their vacations, and employers in production cycles.
Considering and approving the dates of transfers, lawmakers are guided by the requirements of Article 110 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. It says that the duration of continuous rest between two working weeks cannot be less than 42 hours.
Lawmakers considered several options for transfer:
- from Saturday 04/01/2020 - on Monday 04/05/2020;
- from Sunday 01/05/2020 - on Tuesday 05/05/2020;
- from Sunday 01/05/2020 - on Tuesday 12/05/2020.
The final decision became known in July, when the decree No. 875 of July 10, 2019 was published on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers. The document shows the dates of the transfer on May 4 and 5.
In that case, if the government approved May 4 and 12 as the dates of the transfer, then the Mayday for the Russians turned out to be long - 14 days.
Work time
Now about how much we work and how we relax in January 2020 as a whole? In the production calendar, this month consists of:
- 17 working days;
- 14 weekends and holidays.
Holidays, as mentioned above, are 8 days - from the 1st to the 8th, inclusive. The remaining 6 days are on calendar Saturdays and Sundays, which fall on the numbers:
- January 11-12;
- January 18-19;
- January 25-26.
The above schedule applies to Russians working on a 5-day week. Those who are on a six-day day, the number of working days increases to 20, and the number of days off decreases to 11.
The monthly norm of working time in the first month of 2020 also depends on the length of the working week:
- for employees with a 40-hour work week, the total number of working hours will be 136 (17 days x 8 hours);
- those who work 36 hours a week will gain 122.4 hours of work per month;
- in a 24-hour week, specialists will work out only 81.6 hours.
Remuneration is maintained
New Year's holidays in 2020, as before, are included in the time sheet. A full time salary specialist is accrued and paid in full. Long holidays and weekends are not grounds for reducing payment.
Employees who have an irregular working day or a “rolling schedule” with daily or shift work receive a double tariff for official holidays or additional paid days for vacation to compensate for this time.
Workers planning a vacation in January 2020 are paid vacation pay and paid in December 2019. New Year holidays are not included in the next vacation, but due to them, you can extend your vacation without losing your salary.
