Snooker: 2019-2020 season calendar

More recently, snooker was considered a chamber sport, not going beyond the borders of Great Britain. Today, international tournaments are organized on it, and fans of billiards are looking forward to the snooker calendar for the 2019-2020 season.

Tournament Schedule

The championship begins annually in May and lasts 12 months, each of which involves a rating and invitation competition. The 2019-2020 snooker season began on May 18 and was immediately marked by the first round of the Q School amateur series.

Leading Snooker Players

Fans of billiards are watching not only the rating games marked in the snooker calendar of the 2019-2020 season, but they are also waiting for news about their idols moving forward in the standings. Today, according to the results of last year, a dozen clear leaders were identified:

  • Ronnie O`Sullivan;
  • Judd Trump;
  • Mark Williams
  • Neil Robertson;
  • John Higgins;
  • Mark Selby;
  • Mark Allen;
  • Kyren Wilson;
  • Barry Hawkins;
  • Ding Junhui.

The advantage on this list is for the British, and this once again proves the popularity of snooker on Foggy Albion. The season 2018-2019 was not successful for all players: last year's leader Mark Selby moved to sixth place, but his competitor, who took second place a year earlier, proved the right to be the best.

Ronnie O`Sullivan

English snooker player who won 72 tournaments. His first place is fully justified, because this player is from 4 years old with a cue on "you". At 15, he took a maximum break of 147 points and became the youngest player of this level. Since then, luck has not left Ronnie. At 17, he had already won the ranking tournament, which no one had previously managed to do at such an early age.O`Sullivan's love of snooker allowed him to be called "The Greatest." Despite successes, Ronnie is struggling with setbacks. Several times he tried to quit the game, citing fatigue, but each time he returned again to prove his advantage at the table.

Judd Trump

This young player, and he is only 30 years old, made a real breakthrough last season, rising from fifth to second place. In his youth, he was called the "child prodigy of snooker." When he was 11 years old, he won the tournament for 15 year olds. At 12, Judd already performed in the finals for 18 year olds. At 14, this player is the winner of the Pro-Am series tournament in Pontins, where he defeated the eminent Mike Hallett. He literally burst into major adult tournaments. Luck accompanied Trump: the first real victory came to him in 2005, and since then eminent snooker players have spoken about this player aloud. Ronnie O`Sullivan speaks highly of his rival in the finals of last season and says with honor that it would be an honor to end snooker tournaments in 2020 again together.

Mark Williams

A player from Wales, who becomes third in the second year. Following the 2019-2020 snooker calendar, fans really hope to win, because two years ago their idol was a champion, and this despite the left-handedness. He is compared to O`Sullivan, because these two players literally broke into the world of professional snooker in 1992. Wales really value their snooker player, because his victories are not only luck, but also the greatest skill. Williams not only beats opponents with one left, but also often has to resort to the help of the referee, because, as it turned out, this player is color blind who does not distinguish between red and brown.

Neil robertson

This player finished the tournament of the season 2017 with 10th place, and a year later became the fourth. The Australian began his professional career at age 16, imitating the legendary Jimmy White. He considers the best season of his career to be 2018-2019. He defeated Jack Lisowski in the match China Open and received for this as much as 250 thousand euros. Experts attribute this to a successful marriage and fatherhood. The family always supports Neil, and for his sake he goes only forward.

John Higgins

The most cold-blooded snooker player. It seems that nothing will infuriate him. John’s game is always thought out and measured, this is not a show that is often arranged by eminent leaders. He is called "Iron John", because this player simply crushes the opponent with his pressure and the classic manner of behavior at the table. The videos of his matches are used by teachers of billiard schools in lessons for the younger generation. Higgins has four world titles in reserve.
