The anime industry in 2019-2020 will delight the audience with a novelty - the full-length cartoon "My Tyrannosaurus". This is a good touching story about the friendship of two dinosaurs: a huge tyrannosaurus and a baby pterodactyl.
Plot
The world is going through difficult times: among dinosaurs there is a natural selection, accompanied by endless fights. Lack of food, harsh climatic conditions - all this makes giant creatures fight for life by any means. A small defenseless pterodactyl gets into a small mess, from which a huge tyrannosaurus unexpectedly rescues it. The kid becomes attached to him, and they begin to be friends. This friendship has to pass many tests. And the brave little pterodactyl will also stand up more than once to defend his great friend.
It is noteworthy that the trailer for the animated film “My Tyrannosaurus” ends with the words “saionara, tyranno”, which translates as “goodbye, tyrannosaurus”. And this is the working title of the picture. So can it be considered a spoiler? Will the tyrannosaurus die at the end, or just leave its little friend? The intrigue is still preserved, because neither the trailer nor the teaser disclose any details.
Cartoon Characteristics
Even those who are not fans of anime enjoy watching full-length cartoons of Japanese and Korean production with pleasure. Because each picture is a touching story of love or friendship, difficult trials and mutual assistance. The cartoon "My Tyrannosaurus" belongs to the Kodo genre - a universal film for the whole family. According to the trailer, it resembles another famous Japanese animated film "My Neighbor Totoro" directed by Hayao Mizayaki. Moreover, there are similarities in the schedule and in the plot.
The characters of the picture are dinosaurs, but the features of drawing their faces in anime style are well traced. The baby pterodactyl has large naive eyes, with the help of which the authors perfectly conveyed the charm of the hero. The tyrannosaurus’s eyes are not as round as everyone used to see in the anime, but attention is often concentrated on them (close-up). This allows the viewer to feel emotions deeper, because it is the story of the film that is based on them.
Fantasy "My tyrannosaurus" is somewhat reminiscent of the famous "Pokemon", which fell in love with small viewers in the late 90's. In the cartoon, there will also be battles of huge creatures with classic shouts and slowed downs. But the story about a tyrannosaurus is completely different from another popular anime series about a girl in a sailor suit Sailormoon. This is more perfect graphics and a completely different style and genre.
All dinosaurs in the cartoon are not as sinister as in the pictures in encyclopedias. Japanese artists significantly smoothed their images, turning all the characters into a kind of Pokemon or just monsters. But even evil dinosaurs do not look repulsive at all, but quite attractive. Therefore, even children will like the cartoon. The scenes of violence in it are minimized: no torn limbs and rivers of blood.
Popularizing anime in the world
In Japan, this genre appeared in the early to mid-20th century. The first artists were inspired by Disney works, borrowing big eyes from them. The remaining parts of the face received less attention: the nose and mouth were small lines.That is exactly what most Russians and Europeans still imagine an anime character. But since that time, Japanese anime has developed quite a lot, and today you can see very high-quality faces with a clear transfer of emotions due to facial expressions.
An important role in popularizing anime in the world was played by Hayao Mizayaki. His works “My Neighbor Totoro” (1988), “Spirited Away” (2001) and “Howl's Walking Castle” (2004) are revised by children and adults around the world. These very beautiful cartoons with excellent musical accompaniment had a great impact on world animation and inspired many other directors for new projects. One of these works is My Tyrannosaurus, whose release date is set for 2019-2020.
Film crew
The director of the cartoon “My Tyrannosaurus” Shizuno Kobun, who has more than 15 animated franchises on his account: all parts of Godzilla (2017, 2018), all parts of Detective Conan (2011, 2013, 2015), the animated series “Knights of Sidonia” (2014- 2015). To the ordinary viewer, these names do not say anything, but anime fans are probably familiar with the works of Kobun.
In any animation, not only the director, but the screenwriter deserves special attention. And in the case of the fantasy “My Tyrannosaurus”, this is Tatsuya Miyanisi. But then again, this is not a very big name, even in Japan. Of his works, only the cartoon “You are a yummy” (2010) is mentioned. By the way, it is also about dinosaurs, but more humorous and with simplified rendering of characters and background.
But the anime composer is quite eminent. This is Ryuichi Sakamoto, who during his career has written music for more than 60 films. And these are not only Japanese paintings and animes, but also Hollywood blockbusters. So, Sakamoto is a composer of the films “The Survivor” (2015) with Leonardo DiCaprio, “Wuthering Heights” (1992) with Juliette Binoche, “The Last Emperor” (1987) with John Loun and others.
After the premiere of the cartoon "My Tyrannosaurus", anime fans will have new favorites, and not only the plush Totoro and Calcifer, but also the pink baby pterodactyl will be sold in stores.
