Izmailovsky Park is the largest park in Europe with an area of 1608 hectares. Various entertaining events take place here all year round, and on New Year's holidays they usually organize a special program of festivities and open the Silver Ice rink. Go ice skating with your whole family or in the company of friends - isn't that a great way to spend time in the winter months? For many residents of the capital, this has already become a tradition - to visit the rink annually. Last 2019, everything was at the highest level, but what awaits us in 2020?
Opening date, schedule, infrastructure
The skating rink is located near the main entrance of Izmailovsky Park, located on the side of the Moscow Regional Railway. This is an open ice arena consisting of 2 zones with a total area of 11 thousand m2. First of all (from November 15 to 20) a small part of the ice rink is opened, which is created by an artificial cooling system. Its capacity is about 500 people. In December, weather permitting, discover the rest with natural ice. Here already fit 1500 "skaters."
In the middle of the rink, a scene is set up on which performances will take place. Even when there are no events, music will still play to make it more fun to ride. In the evening, the arena is especially beautiful, since light illumination is turned on at this time.
Silver Ice is open all week. The work schedule is as follows:

Near the rink, in addition to skating rental, there is a warm dressing room, a room for mother and child, and there is also a food area consisting of 9 shopping pavilions. You can park your car in the parking lot.
Prices for services, discounts
Most likely, prices for services in 2020 will not change from last year. In 2019, you had to pay 250 rubles to visit the rink. on weekdays and 350 on weekends and holidays. This price includes only 1 session.
Admission is free for children under 6 years old. Two adults can accompany children for free, provided that they are without skates. Otherwise, every adult will have to pay for himself.
In Izmailovo, there are discounts for privileged categories of citizens:
- pensioners can ride on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for free, and the rest of the time, they have a 70% discount;
- students of secondary and higher educational institutions are entitled to a 70% discount;
- orphans, disabled people of I, II, III groups and WWII veterans can get a ticket for free on any day of the week;
- children from large families can come to the rink on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
All additional services are paid separately:
- skate rental will cost 200 rubles per hour (there is an option for figure skating and hockey at the box office);
- rent of a left-luggage office - 50 rubles .;
- simulator rental for beginners and children - 200 rubles per hour.
Also in the park they provide the service of sharpening blades on skates. It costs 200 rubles.
Please note: for inventory you need to leave a deposit. For skates and a simulator - 1000 rubles each. In addition, you must have an identity card with you.
Events
During the opening of Silver Ice, an interesting program will be waiting for guests: performances by professional skaters, light shows, competitions, etc. Entrance for all will be free.
On New Year's Eve, the skating rink will close at 3 a.m.In the morning, there will be performances for children, and in the evening, famous vocal performers and DJs will perform on stage. It offers contests and symbolic gifts. At midnight, as expected, those present will be able to see the president’s congratulations on the big screen, and then the fireworks will launch.
The festive program can also be observed on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In 2019, visitors to the Izmailovsky Park were entertained by Misha Marvin, Kravts, group 2 Masha, Pizza, Polina Gagarina, Elvira. In 2020 there will be no less popular artists.
At Christmas, the park usually hosts performances of ensembles that perform folk dances and songs. Artists of a modest theater will entertain guests with performances, carols, and ditties. It will not do without master classes in which children with their parents will be able to craft some crafts.
After visiting the ice rink, you can go to other interesting places, for example, to a fair or a thematic exhibition. In honor of the new year, a festival will be held in Izmailovsky Park. In some areas, as a rule, New Year's installations and photo zones are installed. Very popular is Ice Town, which is created in December at the site "Forest of Miracles". There you can see ice sculptures and structures, including castles, slides, minigolf, a labyrinth and a small cinema. This is a real winter fairy tale, which you can not just watch, but also directly participate.
Also, lovers of winter fun should go to the husky park to take a ride on the tubing that drag dogs in the harness, as well as on the ski run (ski rental will cost about 200 rubles per hour).
