Fans of the Justice League and the DC Universe as a whole rejoice and wait for 2020 to watch the movie Flash. Although there are rumors that the solo album about the fastest superhero will be released only in 2021, because the actor who plays Flash is still engaged in the Fantastic Beasts project. In any case, fans will look forward to the premiere. The working title of the picture is “Flashpoint” (as well as the popular comic book), but in Russia the film will most likely be called simply “Flash”.
Plot
Due to force majeure, during a routine experiment, a young nuclear physicist named Barry Allen is exposed to chemicals. He was supposed to die, but a miracle happens: the guy not only survives, but also receives supernatural abilities and powers. Now it can move in space with incredible speed, as well as process huge amounts of information very quickly. Barry takes a new name for himself - Flash (from the English flash - flash), comes up with a bright suit and decides to use his superpowers in the fight against evil.
Who is Flash
This character first appeared in 1940. But it was a different person: a student named Jay Garrick, who turned into Flash after inhaling deuterium vapor. Finding himself incredible abilities, Garrick decides to become a superhero. As a prototype, he chooses the Greek god Hermes, having made a helmet with wings and dressed in red. With his symbol he made a golden lightning and took a new name.
The popularity of comics gradually declined, and in 1956, the authors of DC Comics decided to reboot, slightly changing the biographies and identities of some characters. So, Flash was Barry Allen, who acquired supernatural abilities in a slightly different, albeit similar way.
By the way! A big fan of the hero is Sheldon Cooper from the series The Big Bang Theory (2007-2018). He has a red t-shirt imitating a superhero costume. And in one of the episodes, Sheldon even meets his idol, who tells him that he bought shares of Marvel Comics (note: a competing company).
Flash as a Justice League spin-off
At the end of 2017, the film Justice League (directed by Zack Snyder) was released, telling about the most popular five characters in the DC Universe:

Such a motley company was not chosen by chance. All characters have different abilities, so they complement each other perfectly. The visual component is also important: each character has his own color, which makes the film even more contrasting and enjoyable to watch.
In the United States, the picture did not pay off the budget, and the creators decided to talk about each character individually. With Batman, everything is clear and so - he is famous enough and loved by the audience, and there are a lot of soloists about him: “Batman” (1989), “Batman Returns” (1992), “Batman Forever” (1995), etc. In parallel with the Justice League, a film was shot about Wonder Woman, which was also released in 2017. In 2018, Aquaman was awarded the solo album, and in 2020 Cyborg and Flash will be released, on which the authors have high hopes.
Cast
Ezra Miller (Suicide Squad, 2016, Fantastic Beasts and Where They Live, 2016) played Flash in the Justice League, so they decided to leave him for the solo album.But the studio regretted it when she found out that Miller was simultaneously filming in the third part of Fantastic Beasts. DC Comics has no choice but to wait for the actor to free himself, so the exact release date has not yet been determined.
The superhero girl, the charming Iris West, will be played by Kirsi Clemons (Komatozniki, 2017, Bitch, 2018). But the main intrigue is actor Billy Crudup, who is declared as Henry Allen. If you look at the history of the development of Flash as a character in the DC Universe, there you can see only one hero named Henry Allen. And he is the grandson of Barry Allen and Iris West. Does this mean that in the movie Flash the events will unfold for several generations? Or will Henry emerge from the future? Or did Joby Harold introduce an additional character with a similar name and the same last name? You can find out all this only after the release of the trailer or teaser. And this will not happen soon, because filming has not even begun.

Initially, the Flash movie, which is still expected to be released in 2020, was supposed to be filmed by the successful tandem of Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Macho and Nerd, 2012, Lego Movie, 2014), but they went to Disney to create another project about Han Solo after the success of the latest Star Wars (2018). Rick Famuyiva also refused the director’s chair (Deaf Quarter, 1999, Drug, 2015). A desperate studio suggested even actor Ben Affleck, who played Batman in the Justice League, to be involved in the production, but he did not agree.
Fortunately, the directors were found. They were John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who were screenwriters of Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). They have little experience in directing, but the studio relies on a quality script. The screenwriter was Joby Harold (Narcosis, 2007, King Arthur's Sword, 2017), who relied on an original story during his work.
